We spent about 40 minutes searching for the information. We found great information but not what we were looking for. As a blogger, I wrote down some thoughts I had while browsing divorce attorney blogs.

Bogs do not have written rules as far as we know. Blogs are written for the web. What does it mean?

  • Short paragraphs – 2 to 5 sentences maximum bring best blog reading experience. There are many jokes going on among bloggers about ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder of visitors. Yet it’s true: our visitors are rather impatient. They want information fast. And if they do not find it – BOOM! They hit the ‘back’ button and we don’t see them anymore.
  • Use headings to separate the text. Some blogs we found had solid text with no breaks, no links and no bold text. It was a river of words flowing smoothly with no place for eye rest. Yawn!
  • Have bullet lists to help the visitors concentrate on the main points of the blog post
  • White space on the page helps the reader and brings eye relief. Not all people read everything they see on the page. Some people just skim the text. That’s perfectly acceptable. After all, if they like what they see, they will come back to read more.
  • A good blog post has less than 800 words. A perfect blog post has no more than 500 words.
  • Post relevant pictures. Some blogs we found had no pictures at all. Blogs need images to make them visually appealing. Too many images and graphics will make the blog load slower. A picture of 15 kb in terms of size will not slow down your blog and will not be a problem. Pictures help bring people back to read more.

Blogging Tips To Make Blogs REALLY Easy to Read

We noticed very few comments on some blogs. Other blogs had no comments at all. What is one of the secrets of the blogs with high quantity of comments? It is the reading grade level – 7th grade reading level or lower is the answer. College level reading is over grade 22. That’s not good for internet. After all, what is the purpose of a divorce attorney’s blog? Is it to bring more sophisticated readers? Is it to bring more people that will eventually hire the attorney? How To Overcome Writers Block

Fear is the best motivator. Just asking a question: ‘What would happen if I don’t meet deadline for this article?’ could shake you up and bring results. Vividly imagining the losses that might happen could be just what you need.

Some people never lose motivation. Once a decision is made, they stick to it. But little by little they get too relaxed and need to apply productivity boosting techniques to stay in line. For example, I decided to become a freelance writer because I understood that if I wanted to make money online, I had to write. But sometimes I am not in the mood to write. That’s when my ‘do it now or else’ technique kicks in. I will describe real life writing techniques that I developed, tested on myself and made them work.

How To Overcome Writers Block – Personal Techniques That Work

1. Go to forum now technique:

  • If I am writing an article about making money online, I go to Warrior forum. Just browsing questions and answers gives me plenty of subjects and reasons to write. I get so filled with ideas, that writing an article is a breeze.
  • I select forum depending on the subject of my article.
  • 2. ‘Glue yourself to the chair’ technique

    • Start with 3 minute session: write words starting with the same letter for 3 minutes
    • Increase the next writing session up to 7 minutes writing any words starting with a different letter
    • Repeat as many sessions as you need to glue yourself to a chair in order to start and to complete 400 words article

    3. Play ‘deadline’ game. Start writing an article and convince yourself that you have a deadline. It works!

    For people with deep pockets. Hire a writing coach and she will give you all the motivation and reasoning to make writing a book a reality.

    Everyone without exception has hundreds of excuses not to write. None of them are valid. People cling to their excuses desperately. Otherwise we have to face the truth: in order to complete writing a book, you’ve got to write.

I am an avid reader in fourth generation. I read a lot. As a matter of fact I stopped watching TV. Now I just read and write.
